In November 2020, Proposition 207 (the Smart and Safe Arizona Act) was passed, where Arizona voters approved the adult recreational use of medical. The following points outline the current marijuana laws in the state of Arizona:

  • The adult should be recommended by a licensed Arizona physician to hold an Arizona medical card.
  • The out-of-state registration card has the same force and effect as a card issued in Arizona, except that the visiting qualifying patient may not purchase a medical product in Arizona.
  • Under the same Prop. 207, adults 21 years or older can possess up to 1 ounce (≈28 grams). Of that 1 ounce, no more than 5 grams may be concentrate.
  • Adults may cultivate marijuana up to 6 plants per residence. For two residences, 12 plants can be cultivated. Plants must be in an enclosed space and should not be publicly visible.
  • Prop. 203, passed in 2010, allows qualifying patients to use up to 2.5 ounces of usable marijuana product.
  • Public use of marijuana remains prohibited.
  • Driving under the influence is illegal in Arizona.
